Well, its school holidays again so I'm gonna blog!
I have been reminded this week about just how great God is. I will not go into huge detail but I have learned some important lessons and I am feeling stronger in my relationship with the Big Guy because of it. When he speaks, however the message gets through, you really have to listen!
I am so happy!

Don't copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but be a new and different person with a fresh newness in all you do and think. Romans 12:2
Self explanatory, no?

A bad week for Mel Gibson. Mel found himself in a spot of bother after he was pulled over by Los Angeles police who suspected that the star was driving under the influence of alcohol. Police allegedly found a part-drunk bottle of tequila on the back seat, but Mel was unwilling to go quietly. The Hollywood actor is said to have called a female officer “sugar #@#s”, before embarking on a furious anti-Jewish rant which has since provoked the ire of Hollywood and put his career on the line.

Thought this was an item for prayer as Mel Gibson is a famous Christian and he is obviously struggling at the moment! I think it's important to remember the influence that the film 'The Passion' had on our society! Maybe Mel needs some assistance in getting back to the place he was in when he made that film.

A bad week for Barney the Doberman. Employed as a guard dog at the Wookey Hole Caves Teddy Bear Museum, Barney was guilty of a radical departure from duty when he decided to tear a room full of soft toys to shreds. Included in the cull was a £40,000 teddy bear that once belonged to Elvis Presley.

I just thought this was funny! A lighter note to end on!

Wookey Hole Caves ROCK!!!

Well... do you ever have weeks that you wish didn't exist when you are half way through them and then God ends up blessing your socks off (to coin Lisa's favourite phrase) because of it? I had one of those weeks this week. Work has been difficult and stressful and I have dreaded going in this week every morning, by Wednesday I was fit for nothing, useless. However, on Thursday I dragged myself out of my slump and went to GIFT. Mommy Diane was leading it this week and yes the journalling topic was very useful (funnily enough I had started journalling myself a few weeks back after reading through some of my old Bible Study Diary notes and needed the encouragment and suggestions) but I was blessed in more ways but one! We each picked a Bible verse out of a 'hat' in order to attempt to Journal with it! My verse could not have been more appropriate and I will share it with you now!
Philippians 4 vs 4
'Always be glad because of the Lord! I will say it again: be glad.'
I have since read on and found the next few verses important ones for me at the moment too. WOW! Our God is an awesome God!
Bless you all, ttfn, J9 xxx

Hey you guys!
I received an e mail this week off an old friend (non Christian) and I just wanted to share the content with you, in case I haven't got you as a contact! It is one of those emails that people send on, a little bit like an inoffensive chain letter but I hope it blesses those who read it! It was addressed to My Crackpot Friends!

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends
of a pole, which she carried across her neck. One of the pots had a
crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered
a full portion of water. At the end of the long walk from the
stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.
For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing
home only one and a half pots of water.
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But
the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and
miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.
After 2 years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the
woman one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, because
this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to
your house."
The old woman smiled, "Did you notice that there are flowers on
your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?" "That's
because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on
your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water
them."
"For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers
to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there
would not be this beauty to grace the house."

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws
we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and
rewarding.

You've just got to take each person for what they are and look
for the good in them. SO, to all of my crackpot friends, have a great
day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!

How annoyed am I that I cannot take credit for that story! As we all know folks, God only uses broken vessels, so I think that my Crackpot friend who remains nameless needs our prayers and maybe one day she will recognise the love of our Saviour in her life!
Hope this has blessed you nearly as much as it has me, J xxx

Hey guys!
I haven't blogged much recently! This is mainly due to the fact that I only really like to blog positive things and I haven't been very positive (if I am being honest) recently. However things are looking up!
Well I am looking up! I made a command decision the other day to pull myself out of the pit and be Janine again. I am going to need help with this so firstly can I ask, selfishly, for prayer please? And secondly, if anyone sees me looking moody or troubled just kick me and tell me to grow up! There are people everywhere going through much worse than I and I need to remember that I am cared for by the ultimate Father so how much better off am I!?!
I also have to say that I have realised how fabulous it is to have family around you when times are bad. Ste is my first port of call and I couldn't ask for a stronger and more reliable and loving husband (I thank God every day for him). Then I have my parents, they are cool and I couldn't hope for a more supportive group of people (and I count Mommy Diane in that). And finally my church family... Wow has God blessed me or what?
So there's my blog, enjoy xxx
